Is it now Alex's time to shine, cause what we've witnessed at the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Spain was something else. Alex Marquez of BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP claimed his first victory in the premier class, solidifying his position as the new leader in the World Championship standings. The race took a dramatic turn early on as Marc Marquez of the Ducati Lenovo Team crashed out on just Lap 3, leaving fans in shock.
The race, held in front of an enthusiastic crowd, showcased a remarkable opening lap. Fabio Quartararo, starting from pole position, launched fearlessly, followed by Francesco Bagnaia, who started from P3 on the grid, surged forward with impressive speed. Unfortunately for Marc Marquez, his start was less favorable—his early exit set the tone for what was yet to come.

Quartararo, racing for Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, demonstrated good defense, managing to fend off a strong challenge from Bagnaia. The Frenchman’s podium finish marked a significant milestone, as it was his first top-three result since 2023, a testament to his determination and drive to return after a challenging period.
As the race progressed, the tension built, with Marquez and Bagnaia battling fiercely, leading to contact between the two teammates for P2. However, during lap 3, the pivotal moment came when Marquez lost control, low-siding his bike, leaving the circuit open for Quartararo and Bagnaia. He rejoined the race, eventually finishing in 12th place.
With three laps remaining, nothing but clean air ahead of him and no one to battle with for his position, Marquez clocked the fastest lap of the race, leaving his competitors trailing behind. When the checkered flag waved, he celebrated his long-awaited comeback victory after a dominating motogp season-opener, only to lose at COTA due to a crash at Turn 4, after riding over on a wet spot.
Ultimately, Alex Marquez was the star at the Spanish GP. Not only did he earn the victory, but he also positioned himself at the forefront of the championship race. His triumph signifies a monumental step in his career and a shift in the standings of the MotoGP championship.
