SZA has hinted at this deluxe edition for several months, elaborating on her vision for Lana during an interview with Variety. She described the project as featuring "outtakes" along with new songs. However, she emphasized that it evolved beyond a typical deluxe edition, aiming for a softer sound. “I wanted to glide and not think [too much] and get out of my own head,” she shared, adding that she was eager to explore themes that felt less serious.

It was gonna be really soft, because I had made all my screaming points and I just wanted to glide and not think [too much] and get out of my own head—I was so happy to say some shit that didn’t mean a fucking thing.

Looking ahead, SZA is also gearing up for an exciting Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar in the coming months, where fans can expect to hear more from her latest work – along with her two features on Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, GNX, titled “Luther” and the closing track “Gloria.” GNX has already made a strong impression, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
